Coro Polifónico de la Universidad de La Laguna. Decantando. Teatro Unión de Tejina, 8:30 PM
Classical Laguna Experience (CLE) was born in 2020 as an innovative proposal to promote and consolidate the musical offerings of the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. In its 2022 edition, the initiative expanded to the island of La Gomera, bringing the «Laguna experience» to a non-conventional but emblematic space, La Laguna Grande in the heart of Garajonay National Park, offering a festival of classical and modern classic music concerts. Since 2023, Classical Laguna Experience has also been held in Arrecife, Lanzarote, a city known for the Charco de San Ginés, a large natural saltwater lagoon that started as a small fishing port —surrounded by white fishermen’s houses— and, during the era of conquests, served as an essential stop for maritime routes of ships arriving in Spain from Latin America, which connects with the festival’s philosophy.
Classical Laguna Experience (CLE) is based in and originates from San Cristóbal de La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage City, with events held in various conventional and unconventional spaces. In the spirit of this festival, the Classical Laguna Orchestra (CLEO), the official orchestra of the festival, was created. This year, it will be conducted by the Mexican maestro Ludwig Carrasco, who will lead the orchestra in the European premiere of Gabriela Ortíz’s opera Luciérnaga, featuring Carmen Acosta as the soprano in the lead role.
Classical Laguna Experience (CLE) offers a high-quality program that enhances the audience’s experience with this genre, attracting visitors and deepening the formation and strengthening of new audiences. Moreover, true to the festival’s style, this concert series aims to showcase Canarian talent, highlighting its versatility and innovation, with special attention to female performers and composers. The cast of artists and the production team are 100% Canarian.
